What's included
Fridge removal in the Northern Rivers has a catch most people don't know about: the tip takes whitegoods for free, but only if the fridge or air-conditioner has a degassing certificate. Without one, Ballina charges $40 each, Myocum $50, Nimbin $52. Every fridge and whitegoods removal price includes:
- Two of us. A fridge is a two-person lift down any set of stairs, and we've got the trolley.
- Collection from wherever it is. Kitchen, garage, under the house, the shed out the back.
- Degassing sorted. We handle the degas requirement so the fridge goes into the free scrap-metal stream instead of the $40–52 per-item charge.
- Tip fees included. Whatever the tip charges is inside your number.
- Recycled. Whitegoods are scrap metal — they don't go to landfill.
A single whitegood is from $140. Extra fridges or appliances on the same job are +$60 each.

Ranges, not guesses: the exact number is built on site in front of you. Add $30 beyond ~25 km from Ballina; Byron-side loads run 10–15% higher for gate fees.
How it works
- Call or text to book a free on-site quote. We come out, check what it is and where it is, and price it in the quoting app in front of you. The price is the price.
- Booking by SMS. Two-hour window and our names.
- On the day. Text twenty minutes out. We turn up with the trolley and the straps.
- Load and sort. Whitegoods ride separately from mixed waste so they stay in the free metal stream. Anything still working goes to Vinnies or Lifeline, receipt texted.
- Sweep, photos, docket. Before-and-after photos and the tip docket kept on file.
What we won't take
- Commercial refrigeration — cool rooms, display fridges, ice machines. Different rules at the tip and usually a different job; we'll point you to someone.
- Asbestos, including old heater elements or any appliance you suspect has it.
- Loose gas bottles, chemicals, fuel — free at the Community Recycling Centre, not on our trailer.
- Fridges still full of food. Empty it first, or tell us and we'll price the clean-out on site.
Washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves, hot water systems, air-conditioners, TVs and computers are all fine.

How much does fridge removal cost in Ballina?
From $140 for a single fridge, freezer or whitegood, collected from inside and with the degassing and tip fee handled. Extra appliances on the same job are +$60 each.
Why does the tip charge $40 for a fridge?
Because of the refrigerant gas. Fridges, freezers and air-conditioners have to be degassed by a licensed technician before the metal can be recycled. If a fridge arrives at the Ballina tip without a degassing certificate, they charge $40 to have it done; Myocum charges $50, Nimbin $52 and Nammoona about $34. With a certificate, whitegoods are free at Ballina, Kyogle and Nammoona. That's why we handle it.
Do you take old TVs, computers and e-waste?
Yes. E-waste — TVs, monitors, printers, computers — is free to drop at Ballina, Lismore, Myocum, Stotts Creek and Kyogle, so it adds almost nothing to your price when it rides along with a fridge or a load of rubbish. We keep it separate on the trailer so it goes to the right stream.
Can you take a washing machine from upstairs or down a steep driveway?
Yes. Two of us, a trolley and straps. Lennox and Byron have plenty of steep driveways and units with tight stairs — tell us about access when you book so we bring the right gear and price it right on site.
