Lennox Head is inside our base zone — no travel loading. Every price includes the two of us, loading, tip fees and a sweep-up. Heavy or dense loads are priced on site the same way.
Tip runs in Lennox Head
Lennox Head is a quick run for us. We do tip runs Lennox Head to Ballina every weekend: load in the village or up on the hill, then 15 minutes back down the coast road to the Ballina Resource Recovery Centre on Southern Cross Drive. The tip is open 8am to 4pm every day except public holidays. For 2026/27 household mixed waste is $34.60 per 100 kg (checked August 2026), so a heaped 6x4 trailer from a Lennox garage, roughly 300 to 350 kg, is about $105 to $120 at the gate. Green waste is much cheaper at $8.90 per 100 kg, which matters here because half the loads we get from Lennox are palm fronds, hedge trimmings and the pile behind the shed that's been growing since last summer.
The other half is renovation and moving. Lennox has more knock-down-rebuilds and kitchen rip-outs per street than anywhere else on our run, and the houses on the headland side of the village and around Pat Morton sit on some properly steep driveways. We back the trailer up where we can and carry where we can't, which is most of the reason people call us instead of hiring a trailer. Holiday houses along Seven Mile Beach and near Lake Ainsworth give us end-of-season clear-outs: broken outdoor furniture, dead boogie boards, the barbecue that rusted through.
Rubbish removal Lennox Head is priced the same as Ballina because it's inside the 25 km band. The newer estates at Skennars Head and North Lennox are on the same page and the same price.
What Ballina Shire Council will and won't take
Lennox Head is Ballina Shire, and Ballina Shire Council runs no kerbside bulky collection and no voucher scheme. It's the red bin or the Ballina tip, which takes household waste, green waste, builders' waste and sorted metal but not asbestos, chemicals or fuel. Council fines for dumping on the nature strip apply in Lennox the same as everywhere in the shire.
Reuse before you dump
- The Salvage Shed at the Ballina tip (Tue to Fri 8.30am to 3.30pm, weekends 10am to 3pm) is the closest tip shop to Lennox. Decent furniture, surfboards and tools go there rather than in the pit.
- Ballina Community Recycling Centre (same site) takes paint, oils, gas bottles and batteries free.

Can you get a trailer down a steep Lennox Head driveway?
Mostly, yes. A 6x4 trailer on a ute is a lot more forgiving than a truck, and we've backed into plenty of the headland streets. Where the driveway is too steep or too tight we park at the top and carry it up, which is included in the on-site quote. Tell us about the access when you text and we'll plan for it.
Do you take palm fronds and garden waste from Lennox?
Yes, and it's one of the cheapest loads we do because the Ballina tip charges green waste at $8.90 per 100 kg instead of $34.60. Fronds, hedge trimmings, prunings and lawn clippings are fine. Stumps and logs cost a bit more at the gate. Keep the green separate from the general rubbish and the price drops.
Do you do holiday-house clear-outs in Lennox Head?
We do. Owners and managers along Seven Mile Beach book us between guests or at the end of the season to clear broken outdoor furniture, old mattresses and whatever the last lot left behind. We can meet a key holder, price it on site and have it gone the same morning. Ask about a standing booking if you manage a few properties.
Is Skennars Head the same price as Lennox Head?
Yes. Skennars Head, Headlands Estate and Iron Peg sit between Lennox and Ballina, so they're inside the base band and priced from $140 like Lennox and Ballina. Same crew, same Ballina tip, same weekend hours. The newer estates have tighter driveways and less side access than older Lennox streets, so mention where the pile is when you text and we'll bring the right gear.
