Rubbish Removal Prices Northern Rivers

What it costs

Nobody else in the Northern Rivers publishes their rubbish removal prices. We do, because the number shouldn't be a surprise. These are the anchors; the exact price is built on site in the quoting app in front of you, before we lift anything.

• Single item / minimum callout — from $140. A couch, a washing machine, a barbecue, a mattress.
• Quarter trailer — $180. A few pieces of furniture, a small shed corner.
• Half trailer — $240. A bedroom, a garage clean-up, a decent garden pile.
• Full heaped trailer — $330–380. A single garage, a share house, a big shed.
• Second trailer, same job — +$250. Both crews, for estates and whole-house clear-outs.
• Green waste, full trailer — $260. Cheaper because the tip charges less for it, and we pass that on.

Every one of those numbers includes the two of us, all the loading, the tip fee, sorting and recycling, and the sweep-up. No fuel surcharge, no labour on top, no second bill.

Per-item extras

Some things the tip charges per item, not by weight, so they're added per item:

• Mattress — +$70 each. The tip charges $39–42 to take one.
• Fridge, freezer or air-conditioner — +$60 each. Covers the degassing requirement; without it, the tip charges $40–52.
• Tyres — +$25 each.

What changes the price

• Distance. Jobs more than about 25 km from Ballina add $30 — that's Lismore, Goonellabah and Nimbin.
• Byron side. Byron Shire jobs are 10–15% more. The Myocum tip is the dearest gate in the region and it's only open weekend mornings.
• Dense loads. Soil, concrete, bricks, tiles, pavers, wet green waste and renovation rubble weigh three to five times a trailer of furniture, and the tip charges by the kilo. They're priced on site by weight, the same way as everything else — you'll see the line in the quote.
• Access. Stairs, long carries, tight units — usually nothing, occasionally a line item. You'd see it before you say yes.
• Vouchers. Lismore ($82 × 2) and Byron ($50 × 2) issue tip vouchers to households. They're presented at the weighbridge and can't be transferred to us — if you've got one and a trailer, use it yourself. Our prices already include the gate fee either way.

Tip fees: what we pay, what you pay

The gate fee is the hidden cost in every tip run. Mixed household waste costs $346 a tonne at Ballina, $410 unsorted at Lismore ($300 sorted) and $395 at Myocum — checked August 2026. A heaped trailer is around 500 kg, so $150–200 of every full-trailer price is the tip. We sort metal, e-waste, cardboard and green waste out as we load so the load goes in at the cheapest rate we can get, and that's already built into the numbers above.

Priced on site, in front of you

Call or text to book a free on-site quote. We come out, walk the pile with you, and enter every item into the quoting app while you watch. You see the trailer fraction, the per-item extras and the total before we touch a thing. That number doesn't go up after — if a load turns out lighter than we thought, it goes down.

We don't quote from photos. A photo can't tell us what's under the tarp, and a wrong guess turns into an argument in your driveway. Ten minutes on site fixes that.

Skip bin or us?

A 2 m³ skip in the Northern Rivers is $250–350. You load it yourself, it sits in the driveway for up to two weeks, and there's a weight limit. A full heaped trailer with us is $330–380, both of us do the loading, and it's gone the day we come. For anything that's mostly furniture and household junk, we're about the same money and a lot less work.
