Bangalow's rubbish doesn't travel far. From the heritage main street it's about 15 minutes across the ridges to the Byron Resource Recovery Centre at 115 The Manse Road, Myocum — the only gate in Byron Shire, and the dearest in the region. If you've got a trailer and a free Saturday morning, spend them yourself at the Myocum tip — it takes furniture, green waste, whitegoods and mixed waste over the weighbridge, and takes e-waste, gas bottles, paint, fluoro tubes, batteries and oils for free. Weekday hours are 8am to 4pm; weekends it's 8.30am to 11.30am only.
Reuse before you dump
Bangalow is one of the few towns around here where the contents of an old house can be worth more than the cost of removing them, so we look before we load:
- Solid timber and pre-war pieces from a heritage home can be worth selling or consigning through Bangalow's antique and secondhand trade before you pay by the kilo to bury them. If something on your pile looks too good for the pit, we'll say so at the quote.
- Clean, usable furniture and homewares can be donated instead of dumped — it has to be genuinely usable, though; stained mattresses and broken pieces only ever go one way.

If you'd rather not spend your Saturday at the weighbridge, our price already covers the fees.
When can you actually come?
Saturdays and Sundays, 7am to 5pm — we're weekend-only.
